We were invited by Porsche Leicester to film and photograph the first handover of the new generation of the GT3RS from their luxury showroom in Leicester . The images were for use on social media, and they asked us to create a trending reel for the vehicle and the unveil.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) boasts a 520 hp naturally-aspirated flat-six engine, reaching 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, with a top speed of 198 mph. It sports a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Its double wishbone front suspension, 21-inch center-lock wheels, and rear-axle steering improve handling. The aerodynamics have been optimized with a swan-neck rear wing, front splitter, and hood scoop. Weight distribution is balanced at 40:60. The GT3 RS is a stunning work of engineering, sure to please driving fans and Porsche enthusiasts.
This is first time we have shot for Porsche Leicester so it’s always an interesting phase of understanding the clients requirements and style they prefer. The best way to do so is to set an understanding before you start shooting, ask the client what they are looking for, understand their tone of voice, their look & feel and also what they are trying to achieve from the content.
Firstly we started by photographing the entire car, full shots, details, interior exterior etc. Always try to avoid other cars and vehicles around the subject so the vehicle you’re shooting is always the focus of the images.
I knew the style of edits I was looking for when I was shooting with the bloomy highlights and bright lights. The 992 GT3RS has so many details to photograph and showcase. Once we had got all of stills we then concentrated on the reel shots, firstly we staged a couple of reveal shots first the start of the reel. Then we concentrated on the same circuit we did with the images, wide shots, details etc. But this time I was concentrating on the transitions for the reel.
